About our history . . .
In 1959, Theresia and Heribert Unterkircher established this small inn, which was the first bed and breakfast in the village to have ‘central heating’ at the time. Our family-run business is now in its second generation and has been regularly refurbished and, particularly in recent years, modernised with great care and style.
With the opening of the Felbertauern Road in 1968, tourism in the Defereggental really took off. As a result, several tourist establishments sprang up in the Defereggental. This in turn prompted my parents to expand and further develop their guesthouse.
The guesthouse was then handed over to me, their son Werner, in 1984
At the end of the 90's Werner Unterkircher met his future wife Othilia. The host couple is proud of their three children Florian, Andrea and Stefan, who are now grown up.
